This is an innovative and exciting approach to fantasy RPGs. Its original in its mechanics yet feels intuitive and well-reasoned. I love the narrative approach to the book, and its a thrill to simply read the book for fun. I haven't played the game yet but I will shortly. There are also many resources in this book that can be easily ported to other systems if thats what you need. But I want to to play this game as-written because I think it offers a fresh and versatile approach to character creation and also a combat that seems intuitive and much less cumbersome than the usual system(s).

I bought vol. 1&2 after watching "Bob the world builder's" video about this on his channel. Full credit to him and he's right I've been enamored with it ever since I first read it, as a new GM this just speaks to me more than other ttrpg have so far can't wait to get playing.

C&S is the perfect balance between story-telling and table-top war gaming. This elegant system grants players agency in ways other systems don't and forces them to make consequential decisions at every turn, but keeps the story front and center. One experienced RPG player after his test run called C&S: "a high-octane, high-stakes, system that had my attention from start to finish" and "a game that totally kicks a**." Higher praise came from a local RPG hater who reluctantly agreed to help me practice my pacing. She wrote: "That did not s*ck. I would play it again." Highly recommend!
